Cure SMA Grants More Than 900 Scholarships for Annual SMA Conference

Cure SMA is pleased to share that we have granted over 900 scholarships to date for the Annual SMA Conference taking place June 28-July 1, 2019 at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA. Each year, the organization offers scholarships to newly diagnosed families, adults (18 and over) with SMA, and general Conference scholarships to help SMA families attend the event.

The Newly Diagnosed Scholarship Program for the Annual SMA Conference is offered to any newly diagnosed family who has contacted Cure SMA within the last year. Through this program, up to four family members’ registration fees are covered as well as one hotel room for three nights. Families do not need to apply for the scholarship; it is automatically granted once a family first contacts Cure SMA.

For families who are not newly diagnosed, we are also pleased to offer General Conference Scholarships and Scholarships for Adults with SMA, which waive the registration fee costs to attend the conference. The Dhont Family Foundation generously funds a scholarship for all adults (18 and over) with SMA who want to attend Conference. These scholarships waive the registration for one adult, plus one aide or companion. Attendees can contact Cure SMA to receive information on receiving this scholarship.

Families looking to receive a General Conference Scholarship are required to apply and will then be placed on a scholarship waiting list. They will be notified if they are able to receive a scholarship and receive further instruction.

To apply, submit a General Conference Scholarship application. If you have any questions, please email conference@curesma.org.

Special thanks to The Erin Trainor Memorial Fund, The Dhont Family Foundation, The Miller McNeil Woodruff Foundation, Adyn’s Dream Foundation, Live RhysStrong Foundation and all of our generous sponsors and supporters for helping Cure SMA to provide these scholarships.
