Thank you to our amazing Chapter Leaders and SMA families who spend countless hours planning these wonderful fundraising events in support of finding a treatment and a cure for SMA.
Together, we hosted over 19,500 participants at 130 events raising over $1.45 Million to help fund new SMA research and crucial family support programs. The new SMA research that is being funded this fiscal year will consist of seven basic research grants along with two new drug discovery programs. We also will be continuing in our efforts to support families through our informational Care Series booklets which many of which have been recently updated, medical equipment pool, newly diagnosed care packages and The Annual SMA Conference.
This fall, we have had a great year for our Walk-n-Roll Program with 22 held between July and December along with 11 dinner events, 21 golf tournaments, and numerous other fundraisers which brought SMA families together to raise funds and awareness while connecting with each other. It is because of these amazing SMA families, that we are able to provide the level of support and reach huge milestones in our SMA research progress.
We also had a couple of our long-standing events reach major landmarks for their events including the 10th Annual Northern California Walk-n-Roll and the 10th Annual Alabama Walk-n-Roll.
