Muscles for Mckenna Gala Raises Over $100,000

Held Friday, March 13, in Philadelphia, the 3rd Annual Muscles for Mckenna Gala has raised an incredible $107,000, and organizers are continuing to take donations in hopes of reaching their goal of $115,000. In its three-year history, this event has raised a total of $321,000.

The event is led by chairperson Kellie Keenan, along with Amy and Jim Ellixson. The event honors Amy and Jim’s five-year-old daughter, Mckenna, who has SMA type III, as well as all the other SMA warriors and those who have lost someone to SMA. The evening also featured an inspiring video with an interview with Jack and Al Freedman.

In addition to Kellie Keenan and the Ellixsons, our thanks to committee members Sharon Smart, Jane Pedicone, Nancy and Steve Mckenzie, Kim Carlin, Lindsay Edwards, Alexis Trinacria, Coleen Clark, Gina Cannady, Pearl Tomlinson and Maureen Bell; sponsors Johnson & Johnson, Premier Orthopedic & Sports Medicine, Counsyl, JDH auction Services, LLC, Patrick G. Tomlinson Real Estate, Video Dealership, Nemours Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children, Sonobello, Coyle, Lynch and Company and Oakmont Capital Services, LLC; and those who lent their time and efforts to the evening: designer Michelle Milne, Gina Maria Photography, and Eccles Printing.

Our thanks also to the families and guests who made this event so special, including the Telenson, Henkel, Saxton, Negrin, Arizzi, Reilly, and Cannady families.
