Registration is now open for the 2018 Annual SMA Conference! This year’s conference will be held at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, TX, from Thursday, June 14 through Sunday, June 17, 2018. We are excited to bring the conference to a central location and hope you can join us!
Located in the Market Center district just north of downtown Dallas, the Hilton Anatole is one of the largest hotels in the South and features over 1,000 art objects, including two sections of the Berlin Wall. Exclusive to hotel guests, the JadeWaters resort pool complex features a leisure pool with swim-up bar, beach-entry family pool, lazy river, luxury cabanas, a splash zone with two water slides, a full-service restaurant , and more.
More than 1,500 attendees are expected, and we encourage everyone to register and book your hotel early. The conference and our hotel block will both sell out in advance of the registration deadline.
We have several new and exciting opportunities planned for 2018, including bringing back The Dance Party on Friday night, in conjunction with the Family Friendly Researcher Poster Session, and the PJ Party & Movie Night on Saturday evening. All of this will take place alongside many beloved favorites such as our adults with SMA and teen socials, Researcher Relay Race, Meet & Greet, and more.
About the Annual SMA Conference
Every year, Cure SMA sponsors a conference to bring together the leading SMA researchers, clinicians, and families living with SMA. Cure SMA has been hosting the Annual SMA Conference since 1988. We look forward to reuniting as a community at this year’s conference in order to lend each other support and strength and to learn about the latest advances in research and care.
As always, the Conference and the Researcher Meeting run alongside each other. Through the conferences, we bring together researchers, healthcare professionals, and families to network, learn, and collaborate. The Annual SMA Conference is the largest conference in the world for those affected by SMA, and also for those involved in providing support and care for SMA patients.
The weekend is filled with a wide variety of workshops, keynote sessions with leading researchers, a family-friendly research poster session, and more. There are also many opportunities to connect and interact with other SMA families and to receive first hand updates from the researchers.

If you are an SMA researcher intending to register for the SMA Researcher Meeting, please note that registration for that portion of our conference will open in November. Please do not register for the family conference, so that we may ensure you are placed in the proper sessions.
