Team Cure SMA Raises Over $45,000 in the New York City Marathon

Fifteen Team Cure SMA runners successfully raised over $45,000 for Cure SMA while running in the 2019 TCS New York City Marathon on November 3, 2019.

The all-star team included: David Alexander, Jose Ricardo Alverde, Jillian Ament, Michela Bassano, Sarah Bromley, Amanda Dinan, Emma Fazio, Sarah Fazio, Emily Gross, Christine Guiney, Danielle Joslin, Taline Lahcanski, Gary McDermott, Brett Melchin and Matthew Pembroke.

The New York City Marathon is an annual marathon that courses through the five boroughs of New York City. It is the largest marathon in the world, with over 50,000 finishers this year.

“Running the New York City Marathon in support of Cure SMA was truly inspiring. I felt honored to run on behalf of all children and adults affected by SMA and spread awareness of the courage and strength of those affected. I’m looking forward to further supporting Cure SMA,” said David Alexander of New York, NY.

Team Cure SMA

Team Cure SMA is an endurance program designed to connect runners and cyclists with Cure SMA. Athletes from across the country can join Team Cure SMA and participate in a variety of endurance events including wheelchair-friendly races.
