Cure SMA Announces a 2020 Virtual SMA Conference – United, At Home

Cure SMA has been hosting the Annual SMA Conference since 1988, bringing together leading researchers, clinicians, affected individuals, and families living with SMA. The weekend has traditionally been filled with a wide variety of opportunities to learn about the latest in treatments, research, advocacy, care, and support. But most of all, it was a time to connect and interact with the whole SMA community through engaging events like the Meet & Greet, PJ party, adult networking, and more.

Although we are unable to come together in-person this summer, Cure SMA is thrilled to announce it will offer a special Conference-like program to allow individuals and families affected by SMA the chance to be “United, At Home.” The 2020 Virtual SMA Conference will take place during the planned Annual SMA Conference week: June 8-12, 2020.

Cure SMA will host nearly two dozen free and live presentations, networking opportunities, and sponsor symposia throughout the week, kicking off with a traditional opening session on Monday, June 8. And since the SMA Research & Clinical Care Meeting will also be happening in parallel to the Virtual SMA Conference, we are planning a special end-of-week virtual celebration on Friday, June 12, which will bring together researchers, clinicians, and affected individuals and families to demonstrate the unity of the full SMA community—despite the uncommon times we are living in.

More information, including the full agenda and how to register for virtual sessions, will be announced soon. We look forward to meeting together virtually!
